A Custom Hand Railing in Barboursville VA:

A stringer‑based hand railing installed outside the edge of the tread

Problem: The left side of the loft stairway was open, creating the possibility of a fall. A traditional handrail couldn’t be installed because it would have narrowed the usable width of the steps.

Solution: A custom handrail was built by installing balusters along stringers set just outside the edge of the stair treads and inline with existing structural elements.
